People doing nothing in the lap pool are annoying.

Mar 8: Day 24

Planned workout(s)

  1. Bike: 5 minutes in Z1, 50 minutes Z2, 5 minutes Z1
  2. Swim: 300 yd Z1, 3 x (200 yd Z3/15″ rest) 300 yd Z1

Weight: 171

Back to 171!!!  Plateau broken.  Just in time for another birthday celebration lol.  At least I was good today. Had a light breakfast, ate a salad for lunch and a healthy but light dinner.

My bike this morning was….interesting.  I used power on the bike treadmill for the first time, and ~thought~ I was doing OK.  Looked like I was mid Z2 for most of that interval.  Then I uploaded the data to training peaks, and the analysis said “Nope, more like mid Z1”.

but…..but….

Seriously?

I’ll have to play with my garmin.  I thought I had my zones in correctly, but maybe not.

Then at the pool I ran into my worst pet peeve: people blocking lanes for no particular reason.  See, there are 3 pools at the K-State natatorium: a diving pool, a lap pool and a f^&% around pool.  There’s limited space in the lap pool, and lots of people trying to get a workout in on Wednesdays between the 7:30PM time they open and the 8:30PM swim club that uses the lap pool.

So then, of course, there are dudes hanging out in the lanes not doing anything.  At all.  I mean, not even pretending to swim occasionally, just standing there shooting the breeze.

Not the actual dudes in question, but you get the idea.

I get stopping for a minute or two and chatting with friends.  I really do.  But these guys stood there for 10 minutes, did no swimming, then got up and left.  DO THAT IN THE DAMNED F%^@ AROUND POOL GUYS.

OK, enough sounding like a crochety old man.  ^_^  The swim actually went really well, and I feel much smoother than I did even a few weeks ago.  Great to feel that improvement already.

Good luck to you all on your own journeys and adventures.  Cheers!
